How to Tile a Shower Floor and Curb

Detailed Video Instructions on Tiling a Shower Floor and Curb

By Mark J. Donovan

In this video, Mark Donovan of HomeAdditionPlus shows how to tile a shower floor and shower curb.

Before tiling a shower floor and shower curb make sure you first install a mortar shower pan, concrete backer board and the wall tiles.

Tiling a shower floor and curb is easy to do.

All you need is some thinset mortar and tile, as well as a trowel, tile saw and tile nippers.

I prefer to use small 2″x2″ tiles in 1 foot square sheets.

Large tiles are too slippery for shower areas and they do not conform well to the contour and slope of the shower floor. The slope must be maintained if proper water drainage is to occur.
