When people ask
me what are the most popular home improvement projects, I normally ramble
off a list of projects with the best return on investment. However, if I had
to sum up my best answer in just six words I would say, “projects that make
people feel better”. This brief answer doesn’t necessarily conflict with my
list of projects related to return on investment. Instead, however, it
provides another view point, as well as invaluable insight, into what might
be the best home improvement project for you. |

When it comes down to
it, people in general like to do things, or invest in things, that improve their
lives. So when it comes to the most popular home improvement projects, in
general it is interior remodeling projects that rank highest. In particular
bathroom and kitchen remodeling projects are the most popular home improvement
projects and it is not so surprising. When you think about it, the bathroom and
kitchen is where we spend much of our most precious times.

They are the rooms
that are most personal to us and provide the greatest pleasure, whether it be
soaking in a Jacuzzi tub after a long hard day at work, or cooking our favorite
recipe in the kitchen on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Other top popular
home improvement projects include room additions, and flooring and wall
coverings. Room additions frequently provide new bedrooms or family rooms that
allow us to relax and enjoy our time at home more. Flooring and wall coverings
allow us to personalize our homes, and provide character and warmth to our
living spaces.
So if you are
contemplating a new home improvement project consider more than just the return
on investment. Also consider what will make you the most happy and improve the
creature comforts of your life. By considering all of these factors you are sure
to select a home improvement project that best meets all your needs and desires.
