Trimming Trees in Wooded Area Video

Pruning Trees in a Wooded Area can Create an Open and Beautiful Forest Space

By Mark J. Donovan

In this video Mark Donovan of HomeAdditionPlus.com shows how to trim and prune trees to create a clean and neat wooded area.

With just a pair of clippers, a weed wacker and a rake you can transform an overgrown and wooded area into a beautiful and neat mini forest. In just a couple of hours of effort Mark trimmed and pruned trees, removed undergrowth vegetation and raked the area to create a nice wooded area.

One way to dress up a yard that is overgrown with small pines trees, brush and weeds is to thin it out a bit. Simply use a pair of clippers to remove the bottom 5 to 6 feet of branches from the trees. Make sure when trimming or pruning trees, however, to clip the branches right at the surface of the tree trunk. This way you won’t leave any sharp tree branch stems to inadvertently become impaled on.

By trimming trees in this manner you can make it so that you can easily walk through the wooded area. Another advantage of trimming trees in wooded areas is that you can let more light and air filter into the area to help keep it drier. This is particularly helpful if the wooded area is in somewhat of a low wet area.

Using the weed wacker and a rake you can eliminate the small scrub weeds at the base of the trees to create a very clean look in the wooded area. If you feel so inclined you can even spread some mulch in the area to curb future weed growth.
