Installing Basement Shelving Video

Organize and create more storage space in your basement by installing basement shelving

Mark Donovan, of HomeAdditionPlus.com shows how to organize his basement by installing basement shelving in this video.

If your basement is a cluttered mess organize it by installing basement shelving. Home improvement box stores offer a wide assortment of shelving products that are easy to install. In this video I install a free standing shelving system. It has dimensions of 18 inches in depth, by 36 inches in width, and 72 inches in height, and supports 5 shelves.

The assembly of this particular basement shelving unit is a breeze. Each horizontal framing member has rivets on the ends of it that slide into the 4 vertical posts of the shelving unit. The framing members can be positioned at variable heights due to slots built into the entire length of the vertical post members.

The only tool required to assemble and install this basement shelving unit was a hammer, and it was rarely needed. Most of the framing members slid and locked into place with just a little hand pressure.

After assembling the shelving system I placed it into position up against a basement wall and installed a shim underneath one post to level it out.

So if you too have a cluttered basement, or shelving that is inadequate for all the items you want to store, install basement shelving today and get your basement organized!
