Rockwell Tool's Versacut Mini Circular Saw Review Video

Light Weight, Powerful, and One Hand Operation Makes Rockwell Tool's Versacut Mini Circular Saw a Must for the Home, Tool Shed, or Truck

By Mark J. Donovan

In this video, Mark Donovan of HomeAdditionPlus.com demonstrates Rockwell Tool's new Versacut Mini Circular Saw, a lightweight and powerful circular saw that is ideal for ripping all types of sheet material.

Rockwell Tools recently announced a new mini circular saw that includes a built-in laser guide. Rockwell call’s it their Versacut saw, and for good reason. Because of its small size and light weight, weighing in at only 4 lbs, it’s a great saw for a variety of cutting tasks.

The Versacut saw is ideal for most applications that require a circular saw. However it offers several neat advantages over the traditional circular saw.

Its small compact size and balanced ergonomic design allows it to be operated easily and longer than heavier and bulkier traditional circular saws. Its small size also allows it to be used in smaller and harder to reach spaces and places. How many times have I wished for this type of tool when ripping many sheets of plywood?

Traditional circular saws with retractable guard blades require both hands to operate. The Versacut mini circular saw, however, has a unique inner and outer guard blade design that shields the blade and enables the saw to be operated with only one hand. As a result, one hand can help hold the work piece while the other operates the saw.

As the name implies the Versacut mini saw, with its 3-3/8” diameter blade and 1-1/16” adjustable blade cutting depth, can be used for cutting a variety of materials. Simply install the proper blade and it will cut wood, ceramic tile, flooring, sheet metal materials, and even slate. Changing blades is a snap. Simply loosen the blade screw with the key provided and swap out the blade.

Its base plate design also enables a clear view of where the blade enters the work piece, and with a laser guide mounted on top of it, accurate and precise cuts are a breeze. In some cutting applications it can even eliminate the need for having to pull out the miter saw if the work piece is properly marked. The laser guide has a separate on and off switch.

The Versacut’s cutting power is derived from a 4 amp motor positioned towards the back of the saw to make it perfectly balanced and easy to operate. The motor operates at 3,500 RPM with no load. There is a blade height adjustment knob on the Versacut that allows the blade depth to be easily adjusted in 1/8 inch increments. A trigger with a lock-off safety switch resides underneath the barrel handgrip. Also, integrated into the saw is a dust extraction port for keeping the work area clear of dust.

Besides the Versacut mini circular saw itself, included with it are 3 different saw blades, a rip guide, a carrying bag, a non-marring base cover, and a key for swapping out blades. It’s also sold at a competitive price to traditional larger circular saws and can be found at many home improvement centers or online stores.

So if you’re in the market for a new circular saw, make sure to check out the Versacut mini circular saw from Rockwell Tool’s. It lightweight one hand operation, along with plenty of power, makes it the perfect cutting tool for ripping sheet materials and operating in small or difficult spaces or locations. It can be purchased online at www.RockwellToolsDirect.com and other online stores, as well as at various independent hardware and home improvement centers.  Disclosure Policy Statement
