When installing an adjustable
shower rod it is important to make sure it is level. In addition, it is
important to make sure it is high enough off the floor of the bathroom so
that both the inner and outer shower curtains do not drag on the tub or
bathroom floor, respectively.
The first step in installing an
adjustable shower rod is to determine where to place it. Use a pencil and
make a mark on the wall, approximately 6 inches above the shower/tub stall
and centered on the front wall of the shower/tub unit.
|
|
Repeat the process on the
other side of the shower/tub unit. Make sure the marks are equidistant
from the back wall of the shower/tub unit.
Next measure the distance
between your two marks.
Now adjust the width of your
shower rod to just shy of this measured distance. You can adjust the
length of the shower rod by rotating one end of it. |

Once you have extended the length
of the shower rod to nearly the width of the distance between your two
marks, position the fixed end of the shower rod up against one of the wall
marks.
While holding the fixed shower
rod segment in one hand, rotate the other end of the shower rod until it
fits just snuggly up against the other wall mark.
Use a 2 or 4 foot level to see if the shower
rod is level. If it is, tighten up the shower rod a little more to ensure
that it won’t move when you install the shower curtains. |
