How
to Quickly Remove Paint from Glass Windows when Exterior Painting
By Mark J. Donovan
Inevitably when painting around exterior windows you end up getting a little
paint on the windows. Removing paint from glass is easy to do if you remove
it shortly after it has dried on the window. A simple utility razor blade
and some soapy water is all that is required.
To remove paint from glass windows wet the window down with some soapy
water, and hold the razor blade at a 45 degree angle and slide it against
the glass pane towards the edge of the window.
Repeat this process in a rapid
back and forth motion around the perimeter of the window. You will notice
that the dried paint simply scrapes right off the window pane.
The soapy water helps to ensure that
you do not scratch the glass window surface when using the razor blade.
If after sliding the razor blade on
the window pane little paint flakes dangle on the window frame, simply slide the
corner of the razor down the window edge to remove the loose paint flakes.
After scraping the window with the razor, simply rinse the soapy water and
residual paint flakes off the glass pane.
