Well it’s been a hard winter here in
New Hampshire, however the days are beginning to get a little longer and the two
feet of snow is finally melting, at least a little. Ice dams have been a major
problem for many New Englanders this winter, and personally we just barely
avoided a catastrophic frozen house condition at our vacation home. I’m looking
forward to spring.
Over the past month I have been busy writing and videotaping a number of new
home improvement related projects. Chief on the list was a crown molding
installation project that I was involved in. I created a crown molding
installation video as well as wrote several related articles on the topic. If
you have contemplated installing crown molding in your home you will want to
check out my
crown molding installation video. It shows several crown molding
examples and provides tips for installing crown molding. I also co-authored a
new
Crown Molding Installation Ebook that provides in depth instructions and
instructional pictures on installing crown molding.
I also wrote and videotaped some additional content on Compact Fluorescent Light
Bulbs. This technology continues to improve and the energy savings are quite
dramatic. Take a look at my
Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb video to learn more.
Bathroom remodeling is an excellent small home improvement project that provides
a great return on investment. If you want to invest in your home, and have a
limited budget, this is the project to tackle. Besides the standard upgrades of
toilets and bathroom vanities, there are a number of other, and more affordable,
bathroom upgrades you can make. Check out my new articles on
bathroom
accessories, and
installing a bathroom medicine cabinet to learn more.
Window replacements are another recession proof investment. Replacing old,
drafty windows with well insulated, Low-E glass replacement windows can save you
a fortune in energy bills, as well as dress up the exterior and interior of your
home. See my latest articles on
installing window replacements and
window sash
replacement kits.
Finally, for those of us who live in cold winter climates, you may also be
interested in my new articles and
Ebooks on
buying and maintaining woodstoves.
Woodstoves are a great supplementary heating system however they, along with the
chimney, need to be regularly maintained.
As always, if you have any specific
home improvement questions or would like to see specific new home improvement
related content send your questions to me at mark@homeadditionplus.com.
Again,
good luck with your DIY home improvement projects and think spring!
