Dear HomeAdditionPlus.com Website Visitor,

Though most of us are in the midst of holiday shopping, and the snow is beginning to fly, December is still an excellent time of the year to be considering your next home remodeling project, particularly as it relates to the tools that may be required. New tools make excellent holiday gifts and they sometimes can jump start a project that may not otherwise ever happen, particularly if it is a do it yourself project.

In this month’s newsletter I have included several videos on excellent tools to own for the typical do it yourself homeowner. The videos include Laser Levels, Finished Nail Guns, Power Washers, and Home Electrical Wiring tools.

how to Hire the Right Remodeling

  Contractor

Also, with the cold weather hitting, I have included some tips on how to save on this year’s winter heating bills. See my article on “Save on Home Winter Heating Bills” to make sure you are doing everything possible to maximize the heating efficiency of your home.

On a similar vein, I have also included an article on “Frost Forming in the Attic”. Frost in the attic is a situation that indicates there is an insulation and/or water problem going on in the attic that needs to be corrected. If left unchecked water or mold damage is likely to occur. In addition, signs of frost in the attic indicate warm moist air is rising from the heated areas of the home, which suggests an insulation problem is likely going on in the attic.

Finally, I have included a new article on Drywall tape. Many site visitors have asked me what is better to use - Sticky Fiberglass mesh tape or the standard drywall paper tape. In my article titled “Drywall Tape – Mesh Tape or Paper Tape”, I explain the advantages and applications of both.

If you have some of your own home improvement tips that you would like to share with the HomeAdditionPlus.com community, send them to me and I will consider adding them to the HomeAdditionPlus.com website.

Also, if you have specific home improvement questions feel free to visit the Ask HomeAdditionPlus forum, where you can share your questions, and get answers from our community of homeowners and contractors.

As always, if you have any specific Home Improvement questions or would like to see articles on certain subjects send me an email at contact@homeadditionplus.com.

Finally, if you have pictures of your home or latest home improvement project that you want to share with the HomeAdditionPlus.com community [Click Here] and we will create your own home improvement project’s unique webpage.

Again, good luck with your fall home improvement projects!!

Frost Forming in Attic

This year when you go up into the attic to get the Christmas decorations take a look around the attic to see if there is any frost on the roof ceiling or rafters. If there is then you have a moisture problem that should be taken care of. Moisture in the attic could lead to mold and mildew growth in the attic. [Read More]
