December, 2008 Newsletter
Well we are in the thick of the
holiday season and I have been juggling my days between shopping and adding more
do-it-yourself homeowner content onto HomeAdditionPlus.com. Since last month’s
newsletter I have added approximately 50 new helpful DIY home improvement
related articles and videos onto the site, with an emphasis on video content.
In regards to video content, I am
also excited to report that over the next month I will be moving to a new video
player from 5min.com, to display videos on HomeAdditionPlus.com and
HomeAddition.blogspot.com. 5min.com’s video player offers a number of really
cool features for the viewer including zoom in and slow motion capability, as
well as frame by frame viewing. These types of features can be very helpful when
watching a DIY how-to video and you want to slowly watch how something was done.
In terms of new helpful homeowner
tips, I have added many new articles and videos on home electrical wiring. In
particular I have added a series of videos on wiring
3-way switches,
single pole switches,
switched outlets,
half switched outlets,
3-way dimmer switches, and
circuit breakers.
In addition, I have also put together
a series of hot water home heating videos that provide tutorials on the various
mechanical and electrical plumbing fixtures that constitute your hot water
heating system. The video topics include;
Hot water expansion tanks,
Hydronic zone valves,
Circulator pumps, and
Pressure tanks.
Finally, I have added a suite of
videos and articles on some key home improvement tools including:
Electrical Circuit Testers,
Reciprocating Saws,
Table Saws, and
Cordless Screw Guns.
I would also like to hear some
feedback from you on what you would like to see and read about relating to DIY
home improvement content. Even though there has been a collapse of the housing
market and economy we all still need to eat, sleep and live. Consequently I am
optimistic long term and I believe more than ever homeowners will be picking up
their own tools and tackling their own home improvement projects in the ensuing
months. Let me know what home improvement projects you are interested in
learning about and I will share with you my applicable experience or do the
research for you.
As always, if you have any
specific Home Improvement topics you would like to see articles or videos on
send me an email at
question@homeadditionplus.com.
Again, good luck with your late
fall home improvement projects.
