shows how to wire a half switched outlet.
A half switched outlet enables
one half of the outlet to always be operational, and the other half of it
to be controlled by a switch. For example, with a half switched outlet you
could have a clock radio plugged into the lower portion of the outlet, and
a switch controlled reading lamp on the upper portion.
Wiring a
half switched outlet is a little complicated, however with some basic
upfront electrical knowledge and a few simple electrical tools, you can
wire your own half switched outlet circuit.
